Osmosis is the spontaneous passage or diffusion of water or other solvents through a semipermeable membrane. It that applies to water and other solvents if we take a liter of pure water and compare it to a liter of seawater which is very salty, in sea water there is less water and high amount of salt dissolved in it. Therefore the concentration of salt water is greater than the normal water. Osmosis is the process based on the concentration gradient by which the molecules of less concentrated area will pass towards the higher concentration area with the help of semi permeable membrane. Here in this video the osmosis process was described using the potato strips. The potato strips were cut from a potato and put in different concentration of solution.
